Case-based teaching is one of the most effective teaching methods. According to the characteristics of high voltage technology course, combined with case teaching, the teaching practice has been carried out in the exploration of teaching reform. The adopted example of overhead transmission line, explains how to lead learners to use observational learning to think deeply. The finite element simulation calculation case of cable shows the process of encouraging learners to use simulation method to explore abstract theories. It can be confirmed that case-based teaching can enrich the teaching content and improve the teaching effect in the course of high voltage technology.
