Cooperative Reuse of fragmented Spectrum in High-Voltage Power-Line Carrier Systems - A new Approach of PowerLink IP

Abstract— Based on the traditional approach of frequency planning in high-voltage PLC systems, this paper introduces a new method of cooperative reuse of fragmented spectrum in HV PLC systems allowing a high degree of fairness in frequency reuse by neighbouring network cells. The main objective of the method is to increase the data throughput in the in the existing conditions by utilising of frequency resources that may not be used in the neighbouring network cells. An additional intercellular communication via medium access request channels was proposed for that reason.
