The biogas production performance of anaerobic digestion of GLC in rare earth mining area
Abstract Accepted
Ganzhou, Jiangxi province, has abundant reserves of rare earth minerals, whereas the tailings left over for many years have caused serious threats to the local ecological environment. One of the most concerned issues is the pollution of Rare Earth Elements (REE) to the human body. There are three plants which has great resource of biomass in the local, Phytolacca Acinosa Roxb (PAR), Miscanthus and Gleichenia Linearis Clarke (GLC), and the total content of REE in their body is 9.996,0.377,29.288g/kg (dry material) respectively, especially La, Ce, Nd, Sm and Eu, obviously, the GLC take a good advantage in the absorption of REE. To absorb the REE in the topsoil of the mining area and promote resource utilization of GLC, it is used as the fermentation raw material to study the influences of different VS ratio (Substrate to bacterial strain) on the gas production of anaerobic digestion. The results showed that the cellulose and hemicellulose were significantly reduced under the VS2:1, the methane yield reached 687.1mL, and the highest cumulative methane yield was 214.7mL/g VS, which was significantly higher than other concentration gradient respectively. The study believes that the concentration of VS2:1 can be used for resource treatment of a high biogas production, so it can provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of polluted plants in the mining are.
