A novel CO2-water leaching for AAEM Removal from Biomass
Abstract Accepted
It is well known that the lignocellulose biomass have high AAEM content, which will cause serious problems during its combustion, like fouling and slagging. The water washing treatment is a relatively simple pretreatment method for AAEM removal, but it can only remove the inorganic water-soluble AAEM. As for the organic metal combined with the oxygen-containing functional group and the water-insoluble inorganic metal, the effect of water leaching is not obvious. This paper proposed a CO2-water leaching method for AAEM removal from biomass. This method is much more feasible compared to the hydrochloric and nitic acide aqueous solution. The experimental results showed that the K, Na, and Ca removal rates were 91%, 79% and 26%, respectively. They were much higher than the removal rate of pure water leaching, which were 81%, 56% and 3%, respectively. The removal mechanism of CO2-water leaching was discussed in detail.
