The utilization of waste polymer (e.g. plastic, biomass, etc.) mixtures is a great issue. The main problem, that the properties of the pyrolysis products are fundamentally affected by the composition and process parameters (e.g. temperature, reactor, catalyst, etc.). It is also known, that the profitability of the process is highly depending on the contaminants in products, which can be affected by the raw materials. High plastic content with exclusion of polyvinyl chloride, polyamides and other heteroatom containing plastics are favoured in raw material, because they can transform into high value added hydrocarbons. Most of the waste plastics, especially from households and agriculture, are available in their mixed and contaminated form, e.g. mixed with biomass. On the other hand, biomass decomposition results significantly different products, e.g. aldehydes, ketones, alcohols, carboxylic acid, phenol derivate are produces.

This work is focus to the kinetic approach of the waste plastic-biomass mixtures using different catalyst mixtures. For catalyst preparation synthetic ZSM-5 and SAPO-11 zeolites were used. Neat synthetic zeolites had been loaded with Ni and then Ca(OH)2 and red mud were added into them. The decomposition of raw materials was taken in TG apparatus up to 1000°C. The reaction kinetic parameters were calculated based on first order kinetic approach. It was found, that the composition of the catalysts had a great effect to the activation energy of the decomposition and the high concentration of the Ni loaded synthetic zeolite are favoured for the decomposition reactions.
