NiO modified volcanic rock catalyst towards steam-CO2-reforming of biomass gasification gases(BGG) for synthesis gas was synthesized by the wetness impregnation method. Although the VR/NiO exhibit poor surface structure, the conditions experiment showed that VR/NiO has excellent catalyst activities and structure stability. At the reaction condition of 800℃ reaction temperature, 1.5ml/h water flow, 2500 ml·g-1·h-1 space velocity, it is achieved that the BGG was almost transferred to the synthesis gas with the value of H¬2/CO= 2, and the catalyst maintained stable properties after 1400 min reaction. The results of AAS, ICP, XRD, BET, SEM, TEM showed that the component and structure of spend catalyst was basically same as the fresh one. The TEM results showed that Na and Fe element in the volcanic rock is gradually enriched to the Ni particle during the reaction, and the Fe element was combined with Ni to form Ni0.36Fe0.64 alloy, while Na may dope into the lattice structure of Ni. Both of the two element migration may be the main reason of the improvement of the activities and stability of catalyst.
