Hydrothermal carbonization performance and the correlation of palletization and combustion of hyrochar with carbonization degree

In order to find the mathematical relationship between the degree of hydrothermal carbonization and the performance of hydrothermal carbon, it was decided to use fixed carbon as a measure of the degree of hydrothermal carbonization. This study established a correlation model between the degree of hydrothermal carbonization and hydrothermal carbon performance, hydrothermal carbon forming particle density, molding specific energy consumption, forming strength and combustion activation energy Ea. The three different properties of Camellia oleifera, rice husk and tobacco stem are carbonized at 150-250 ° C for 30 min under high-purity nitrogen conditions. The obtained hydrothermal charcoal is then formed at 100 ° C and 5 KN to obtain hydrothermal. Carbon shaped granules. The three hydrothermal carbons as well as the solid yield, calorific value, elemental analysis, particle density, molding specific energy consumption, compressive strength, and combustion activation energy of the formed particles were evaluated. The experimental results show that both the hydrothermal carbon and the formed particle characteristics can establish a good mathematical model with the dimensionless parameter FCI; especially the formed particle density and compressive strength show a trend of increasing first and then decreasing with the increase of FCI. The specific energy consumption of molding shows a trend of decreasing first and then increasing with the increase of FCI, which is an important guide for the preparation of high-performance shaped particles by biomass hydrothermal carbonization pretreatment.
