Abstract: Modified palygorskite (MPG) was used as support. A low-cost supported tri-metallic catalyst Ni-Fe-Mg/MPG were prepared by homogeneous precipitation method for CO2 reduction and fuel gas enrichment in typical municipal solid waste (MSW) pyrolysis. The structure of the catalyst was characterized by XRD, SEM and BET. Further, the catalyst was used to investigate the characteristics of fuel gas in MSW pyrolysis. The characterization of the catalyst showed that the particle size was about 45 nm and the specific surface area was 131.66 m2·g-1. From 773K to 973K, the gas yield had a high increase rate with catalyst and then slowed down gradually from 973 K to 1273 K. At 973K, the performance of the catalyst in MSW pyrolysis showed that gas yield increased by nearly 1 times. Among them, the combustible gas yield and H2 yield increased by 209% and 525% respectively, and CO2 removal rate was more than 82%. With catalyst, the low heating value (LHV) and gas yield had similar change process. At 973K, LHV increased by 107% and reached 1786.49 kj•m-3. The combustible gas accounted for more than 96% of the total gas and can be further used as fuel.
