Superlubricity Performance and Mechanism of the MoS2-Ag Film
Abstract Accepted

Molybdenum disulfide has excellent lubricating properties, and that its treatment technology on metal surfaces is one of the current research hotspots in the lubrication. In order to improve the moisture resistance, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance of MoS2 films, a large number of researchers have carried out experiments using several substances with synergistic effects to make composite films instead of simple films. In this study, the tribometer is used to test the macroscopic tribology properties of the MoS2-Ag coating. Noteworthily, the lowest friction coefficient of 0.007 is obtained between DLC ball and MoS2-Ag film under dry nitrogen, reaching the superlubricity regime. Finally, the High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM) is utilized to reveal nanostructure characteristics of frictional interface. The evolution of the superlubricity state principally depends on the establishment of interfacial nanostructures in the self-adaptive running-in period.
