Abstract
This paper presents design, optimization and sensorless control of a linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) used in the field of rail transit. By comparing four types of LSRMs with transverse flux structure, CI type, CC type, EI type and EE type, the EE type structure is selected. The initial sizes of the motor are calculated via SRM design theory, and optimized through finite element analysis. The motor characteristics with different secondary materials are compared. The prototype test platform is built, and the machine electromagnetic characteristics are test. The position sensorless control of the LSRM is realized by pulse injection method.
