Abstract
This work addressed rapid prediction of the temperature rise for high power linear ultrasonic motor by developing a 2D thermal network model. Firstly, a six terminal equivalent circuit for Langevin transducer considering the piezoelectrics with three losses was proposed to calculate the stator loss. Then the calculated losses are used as inputs to the nodal thermal network model that introduces a thermal circuit for the clamping part and computes the temperature rise for different parts of the motor. Finally, the temperature rise experiment for a high power linear ultrasonic motor with V-shape stator was conducted to validate the presented model.
