Sustainable urban stormwater management is an essential approach in respond to climate change and rapidly development of cities across the world. This study intends to investigate how CDS stormwater filtration, powered by the kinetic energy derived from the flow of water in the drain, to remove all gross pollutants with risk reductions such as urban flash floods. It will enhance urban resilience to climate change, improve water quality, sediment regulation and better stormwater management. The CDS unit can be considered the first stage investment for further processes to be added to generate re-use water. The company EcoClean Technology Sdn. Bhd. have designed and built to date about 600 numbers of CDS units  in Malaysia and supplied few to Singapore, China and Brunei.  The process of the non-blocking CDS technology works to remove gross pollutants, coarse sediment, suspended solids, oil & grease and etc. The company EcoClean Technology have done further research and development in Malaysia and managed to design and build purportedly the world’s first 6 million litres per day(MLD)  Sullage Treatment  Plant( SWTP ) with CDS technology for filtration among other processes in Malaysia. This plant  had successfully treated blackish and smelly sullage water of Water Quality Index (WQI) Class 4 to 5 influent to reach WQI Class 2A affluent, which is a standard accepted by most countries as  reuse water for agricultural and industrial purposes.
