Landslide-induced tsunami waves pose a significant threat downstream, particularly to vessels navigating or anchored in water bodies. To evaluate the influence of these waves on vessels, various landslide-related and geometry-related factors impacting the vessels are investigated. A Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) framework is validated by landslide-induced tsunami wave and wave impact on vessel experiments. Then the well-validated SPH framework was employed to simulate the scenario of landslide-induced tsunami waves impacting vessels. The results indicate that the heave and sway motions of the vessel are primarily influenced by the initial wave generated by the landslide entering the water, while the roll motion is mainly affected by the Stokes-like secondary waves. The research provides insight into the dynamic responses of vessels under landslide-induced tsunami waves, offering valuable guidance for disaster prevention and mitigation efforts.
