Ebinur Lake is the largest lake in the the Junggar Basin, and it is also a sensitive ecological target in the lower reaches of the Bortala River. The Wuyi Reservoir is the largest reservoir on the Bortala River, which flows into Lake Abi. There is a problem of unstable ecological flow in the reservoir. In order to coordinate the water demand for ecology, production, and daily life, and solve the ecological degradation problem in the Abi Lake basin, this article conducted a study on the minimum ecological water level and water shortage of Abi Lake. By calculating the corresponding relationship between the ecological water demand of the Abi Lake Wetland Protection Area and the discharge water of the Wuyi Reservoir, the discharge water demand of the reservoir corresponding to the ecological sensitive target was obtained. The monthly discharge water process line and guarantee rate of the Wuyi Reservoir were determined, and a monitoring and early warning plan was formulated. The results indicate that reasonable scheduling can achieve the water supply targets for daily life and production in the Wuyi Reservoir, as well as the ecological goals of the river. The research results have certain theoretical and practical significance for ensuring the sustainable development of the ecosystem in the Abi Lake Basin, and can provide technical support for the engineering ecological flow regulation of rivers in arid regions.
