During the 14^th Five Year Plan, the special funds is used to carry out the reinforcement of dangerous reservoirs including small ones. In order to evaluate the implementation effect of small-scale reservoir reinforcement projects, special supervision and inspection were carried out in seven provinces (municipality directly under the central government) including Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, and Jiangxi, in which 188 small reservoirs were inspected and 620 problems were discovered. Common problems and causes were identified during the reinforcement process of small reservoirs, and reasonable suggestions were proposed by statistical analysis. Through inspection, the local water conservancy administrative departments and management units are uged to pay more attention to the reinforcement work of small reservoirs, the construction of reinforcement projects are accelerated, and safety hazards are eliminated.
