As the largest urban lake in Wuhan and even in China, East Lake serves multiple functions such as rainwater regulation, ecological adjustment, landscape entertainment, fishery farming, and water sources for industrial and agricultural uses. It has a significant impact on the sustainable development of Wuhan's environment, economy, and society. However, East Lake also faces significant environmental disturbances and pressures from its surrounding areas - large amounts of domestic sewage (including catering waste), as well as indirect inputs from atmospheric pollution caused by urban crowds and traffic, have made it a convergence zone for pollution. To provide decision-making support for improving the water quality of East Lake, it is necessary to study the input-response relationship between the water quality of East Lake and the pollutant emissions in its basin. This paper employs the MIKE 21 two-dimensional hydrodynamic water quality model to analyze the response relationship between pollutant emissions in the East Lake Basin and the water quality of East Lake, providing a basis and reference for the treatment and improvement of the water environment in East Lake.
