The Fu River, an important part of the Poyang Lake system within the Yangtze River basin, covers an area of approximately 17,186 km². The soil and water conservation status in its basin has a profound impact on regional water quality and ecological balance. This study aims to reveal the dynamics of soil erosion and the spatiotemporal variation of its influencing factors in the Fu River Basin in Jiangxi Province, China, from 2000 to 2020. By employing the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) combined with multi-source data (including precipitation, soil properties, topography, and remote sensing data), this research estimated the soil erosion rates in the Fu River Basin for the years 2000, 2010, and 2020, and analyzed their spatiotemporal changes. Using the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) model, the study explored the spatial variation patterns of factors influencing soil erosion (such as precipitation, soil type, and slope of the terrain). Preliminary results indicate significant spatiotemporal differences in soil erosion within the Fu River Basin during the study period, and the contributions of various factors to soil erosion show significant spatial discrepancies. These findings are of great significance for understanding regional soil erosion dynamics, formulating targeted soil and water conservation measures, and promoting regional sustainable development.
