With the rapid development of social economy and the acceleration of urbanization, human activities have a strong impact on the urban lake ecosystem, and lake cyanobacteria blooms frequently occurred in lakes, seriously endangering the lake water ecosystems. According to the existing advanced management concepts and related engineering practices of urban lakes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, this study sorted out the new paths for urban lake protection and restoration.Taking the typical urban lake Tangxun Lake as an example, the comprehensive management of the water environment in Tangxun Lake is characterized by high water quality standards, poor municipal foundation, rapid urban development, and large management system. By introducing and implementing a series of advanced technologies such as improving the quality and efficiency of sewage treatment plant networks, preventing and controlling non-point source pollution, treating internal pollution, drainage and flood prevention, and restoring lake water ecology, the continuous improvement of water environment and the gradual restoration of water ecology in Tangxun Lake Basin are promoted, and the "Tangxun Lake experience" is provided for urban lake management in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
