Groundbreaking SF6 Free Solutions Based on Vacuum Technology

Replacement of SF6 in MV and HV switching technologies is a breakthrough in  Electric power equipment. In this frame, a complete portfolio of switchgear and controlgear is being developed including a new range of vacuum interrupters, disconnectors, earthing switches and switches. The purpose of this paper is to present those new innovations that are fully interchangeable in switchboard. The new range of load break switch with shunt vacuum interrupter technology has been developed based on a new concept of a shunt vacuum switch in parallel of the main circuit. The complete new range of SF6 free GIS for primary distribution is designed with same dimension, footprint and performances that previous SF6 generation. Those solutions are based on new technologies including a new range of vacuum switches, interrupters, and switching devices developed, tested and fully validated in parallel, according to current standards.
