C4F7N/CO2 gas mixture is widely considered as a potential replacement gas for SF6 due to its excellent insulation and environment-friendly. However, the presence of gaseous impurities (such as micro-water and micro-oxygen) in actual operating conditions will result in different decomposition characteristics of the C4F7N/CO2 mixture. In order to study the above problems, this paper comprehensively considers the possible micro-water and micro-oxygen environment in actual operation. Meanwhile, the type and content of decomposition products for 20%C4F7N-80%CO2 mixture is simulated and calculated based on the reactive force field (ReaxFF) molecular dynamics. The results show that: H2O can promote the decomposition of mixed gases, and the promoting effect of O2 is weaker than H2O.Furthermore, O2 is found to inhibit the decomposition of H2O. For the case that O2 content is kept constant at 2%,the decomposition rate of C4F7N increased with the increase of H2O content (2%, 4%, 6%, respectively). For another case that H2O content was kept at 2%, the decomposition rate of C4F7N did not decrease significantly with the increase of O2 content (2%, 4%, 6%, respectively). This indicates that H2O mainly promotes the decomposition of C4F7N/CO2, and O2 has an inhibitory effect on the decomposition of C4F7N. This study provides theoretical support for the effect of H2O and O2 on the decomposition of C4F7N/CO2.
