The rapid development of China's smart grid has put forward higher requirements for the performance of circuit breakers. To meet the requirements of modern breaking technologies, optimizing the comprehensive parameters of contact materials is essential. This study investigates the influence of Te on CuCr contact materials through theoretical analysis and experimental testing for contact materials prepared via different processes and composed of various material ratios.  A comprehensive evaluation is conducted on properties including anti-welding performance, dielectric strength, chopping current, and contact resistance. The results indicate that the addition of Te element can appropriately reduce the tensile strength of CuCr contact material, enhance the resistance to fusion welding, decrease the level of chopping current, reduce the contact resistance, and enhance the comprehensive performance of the contact material. This study focuses on modifying contact materials to align with the requirements of modern switches, overcome technological barriers, and facilitate the advancement and evolution of vacuum switches towards higher performance standards.
