Abstract
In the numerical calculation of local thermal non-equilibrium (LTNE) convective heat transfer in porous media, conventional segregated algorithms decouple the heat transfer between two phases and further affect the computational efficiency. Based on the concept of pressure correction employed in SIMPLE-like algorithms, this study proposes a two-way coupled acceleration method that facilitates the synchronized development of two-phase temperature through temperature correction within the segregated algorithms. The proposed method has undergone rigorous validation through three distinct test cases, including the temperature bifurcation phenomenon, banks of rods in cross-flow, and flowing through the packed bed. It is demonstrated the remarkable convergence acceleration for both constant and variable property problems can be achieved with a maximum computational efficiency enhancement exceeding 50%. Further, there exists a positive correlation between the acceleration performance and the Biot number (Bi).
