Currently, global climate change is no longer a distant concern for the future, but a pressing and immediate real threat that has become a top priority for the international community and various governments. The presentation, by introducing the changing trends, impacts, and risks of the climate system, as well as the process of climate governance, elaborates on the changing trends and characteristics of extreme weather and climate events in China. It combines the development of climate monitoring and prediction technologies and their impacts on industries in China in recent years, as well as the scientific challenges faced, and proposes considerations such as strengthening disciplinary development, basic research, technological research and development, and linkage mechanisms.
