Shotor-kuh Metamorphic Complex (SMC) cropped out in SE Shahrood (400 Km east of Iran capital (Tehran)) and in the northern margin of the central Iran structural zone. SMC is a remnanent of the collide microntinental of northen Pangea and in between Proto-Tehtyan oceanic barnches during their amalgamation and it mainly composed of metapellites, metabasites, metasandstones, metacarbonates and migmatites. The biotite, garnet and kyanite zones in micaschists are compatible with greenschist to the upper amphibolite facies and Barrovian type regional metamorphism. Post Panafrican underplating magmatism in passive margin is one of the main factors for evolution of metamorphism and magmatism in SMC. Decomposition and dehydration of biotite caused to increasing modal of orthoclase in gneisses and migmatites. In the other hand, decomposition and dehydration of hornblende caused to increasing modal of garnet and plagioclase in migmatitized amphibolites.
