Identification and Location of The Insulator of The Traction Electric Network based on Binocular Stereoscopic Vision System

In order to realize the Automation and intelligence of the identification and location of the insulator of the traction electric network, this paper proposes a new method for the identification and localization of the insulator in the contact network by using the stereo vision system and SURF. Firstly, we build the feature database of insulator based on the SURF feature extraction. Secondly, we processes image data collected in the real environment and extract features. Then, we match these images with the feature database and realize the identification of insulator. Finally, based on binocular stereoscopic vision system, we calculate the location information of insulator.
