Finite element models of a large coach and two different dual-wave barriers which utilized on highway normally were established, to study the coach-barrier collision process. Dyna solver was used to simulate the dynamic response process with speed of 60 km/h and collision angle of 20°. The results show that the protective effect of the two types of barriers on coach-barrier collision is significantly different, lost control of the coach can be corrected to a certain extent through reasonable design; the front-lower end of coach generates quite severe deformation, but does not invade the occupant's survival space; the barrier absorbs more than half of the coach kinetic energy in the collision process, which can reduce the impact of the occupant and the severity of road accidents.
