The default LCE caching policy of ICN stores contents in every node it traverses along the delivery path, which introduces high cache redundancy and cannot fully utilize cache resources. We select a specific node on the packet return path to cache contents. Considering the regional and time differences of network traffic, we propose a cooperative caching policy based on node hotness and cache replacement rate. It periodically calculates the node hotness and cache replacement rate as a measure to determine whether the contents should be cached in a node. The simulation results show that the policy proposed in this paper, compared with LCE and CLFM, has a smaller number of average request hops and lower server hit rate, thus offering better caching benefits.
