Introduction

The 1st Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (EMCEI) aims to gather high-quality, original research papers for publication after peer review in topical collections (special issues) of Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration and some other "Springer" journals on various multidisciplinary topics linked to the evolution and development of the Euro-Mediterranean environment—past, present, and future (see Special Issues). The main objective of the conference is to support research and innovation, promote the exchange of scientific knowledge, and foster collaboration among Euro-Mediterranean communities. The conference participants will have an opportunity to attend several keynote presentations concerning new indicators and directions in research, development and innovations in the multidisciplinary fields of environmental sciences. In this respect, several high profile Euro-Mediterranean scientists are expected to participate at this conference (see Speakers). Moreover, a social and cultural program is planned, where one can interact as efficiently as possible and explore the wonders of the historical sites of Tunisia (see Social Program).
