Introduction
Infrastructure is an essential part of the social well-being of any nation and this can be grouped under the umbrella of man-made structures to facilitate economic development for the welfare of the humankind. Such infrastructure includes buildings, roads, pipelines, dams and power plants, to list a few. Providing quality infrastructure without aggravating the existing issues related to environment, economy and sustainability is a major challenge to the engineering community.
