International BWM Technology and Standardization Forum

International BWM Technology and Standardization Forum is the pioneered international event to combine technology and standardization globally, which specifically invites ISO/TC8 as the technical and standardization consultant. In order to promote maritime stakeholders to better comply with the BWM Convention and contribute to the protection of marine ecological environment, it will stimulate the industries to consider the application of standards as a common-consensus technical solution in practice during the discussion on technical issues.

The forum covers all aspects under the framework of the implementation of BWM Convention, including PSC, inspection testing, compliance testing, treatment technology, installation, operation and maintenance. We will have officers and inspectors from IMO and national maritime authorities introduce and interpret the latest international regulations on ballast water management and PSC requirement, providing guidance for shipping industry to carry out maritime transport activities smoothly. In the meantime, it will also invite ship owners, manufacturers, purchasers, shipyards and testing service suppliers from China, Japan, Korea, USA, Europe and other areas to display and exchange technology, and share concerns along with the industry chain.

It shall be a great platform for all the participants to identify problems in the implementation of BWM Convention, discover the urgent needs for ballast water treatment technology and standardization, explore technical solutions, and match business demands.
