NOWADAYS Multilevel Inverters (MLI) are widely used in industry in many high power applications. Due to the large number of semiconductors used in MLIs, these inverters are severely subjected to failure as a consequence of failure in semiconductors, driver circuits and/or DC-link electrolytic capacitors. Hence fault-tolerance is considered as an important requirement for MLIs. The special session will be focused on the issues related to provide this ability in all different structure of MLIs such as CHB-MLI, DC-MLI, FC-MLI, and etc. The scope covers papers including fault detection techniques and also post-fault control algorithms for MLIs.
In particular, this session will be focusing on (but not limited to) the following topics:
Fault detection and diagnosis techniques.
Post-Fault control methods.
Application of model predictive control under faulty condition.
MTBF analysis and calculation.
Real-time simulation in faulty condition.
