On behalf of the European Federation of Internal Medicine, it is our privilege and great pleasure to invite you to the 17th European Congress of Internal Medicine that will take place in Wiesbaden, Germany. The congress will be held at the RheinMain CongressCenter from 30 August to 1 September 2018.
The European Congress of Internal Medicine – ECIM – is a major event in Internal Medicine where physicians, scientists and other experts in the world of Internal Medicine exchange important information on advances in science and clinical practice.
ECIM is a platform for interdisciplinary interaction of European Internists, including those practising related specialities, as well as young Internists, sharing their experiences and networking.
Aside from the presentation of the results of clinical and basic research, the focus of ECIM 2018 will be an innovative and comprehensive overview on the treatment of complex, multimorbid patients. Thus, the slogan of ECIM 2018 will be “The art of managing clinical complexity: An integrative, patient-centred approach”.
Special areas of interest will include prevention, diagnosis and therapy of the principal features of the metabolic syndrome and the associated spectrum of cardiovascular disease and other comorbid conditions.
Gender- and age-related aspects, the emergence of digital medicine, and the impact of health economics will be highlighted in this context.
We look forward to welcoming you to Wiesbaden, one of the oldest spa towns in Europe. In addition, Wiesbaden is the “Wiege (Cradle)” of German Internal Medicine congresses; the German Society of Internal Medicine was founded at the first congress in Wiesbaden in the year 1882. Wiesbaden is a great meeting place, located centrally in the Rhine-Main region with world famous wine-producing areas nearby, and an excellent reputation as an attractive destination for tourism.
Welcome to ECIM in Wiesbaden 2018!
