The resource endowment of our country determines that the coal-fired units still occupy an important share in the field of electric energy for a long time, so the efficiency of coal-fired units needs to be improved continuously. This paper reviews the development of ultra-supercritical units in colleges and universities, and puts forward a technical route for further upgrading thermal power units to achieve generating efficiency of more than 50% units at 630 ?level. The key technical points of 630 ?grade coal-fired unit development are discussed.
