Reliability Analysis of Turbine Overspeed Protection System Based on Fault Tree Method

Turbine overspeed accidents are serious accidents, which often cause serious damage to equipment, resulting in the occurrence of turbine missile, which affects the safe operation of nuclear power plants. This paper takes the turbine overspeed protection system of Units 5&6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant as the research object, analyzes the possible failure modes and failure effects of the overspeed protection system, and establishes the fault tree model to evaluate and analyze the reliability of the turbine overspeed protection system. According to the analysis results, specific preventive measures were proposed in order to ensure the safety of turbines of Units 5&6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant.
