Abstract: This paper investigates an experimental method for evaluating the flame combustion condition and its stability was studied. In the self-designed reaction device, the optimal reaction conditions of methyl palmitate, ethyl palmitate, propyl palmitate, butyl palmitate and amyl palmitate were obtained by using pyridine n-butyl bisulfate ionic liquid as catalyst, and the low temperature flow performance was tested. The OH-PLIF technique was used to analyze combustion characteristics of the flame height, flame front area, flame speed and OH-PLIF time-average total signal strength of palmitic acid linear ester. The red, green and blue feature matrix is extracted from the flame image, and one color is selected as the evaluation color. An iterative method is used to obtain the optimal threshold of the region where the flame is located, each pixel in the matrix is compared with an optimal threshold, and the mutual flame combustion and flame stability are evaluated by calculating the average variance and the variance of the continuous operating conditions. The method is simple in operation, accurate in repeatability, and less subject to interference. This paper provides some guidance for the analysis and optimization of biodiesel flame combustion process.
