Abstract—Metalenses made of sub-wavelength nanostructures have shown the capability of light focusing and imaging with a miniaturized size.In particular, their application in various focusing and imaging systems is of significant interest. However,a systematic and complete study of oblique incidence focusing and imaging behavior of metasurface has not yet been conducted. In this paper,we demonstrate ultraviolet oblique incidence focusing and imaging in transmission modes by adopting aluminum nitride (AlN) with ultrawide bandgap and a waveplate metasurface structure. The focusing and imaging characteristics have been investigated experimentally at 375nm wavelength. For more focusing performance,we designed and manufactured a lenticular metasurface for realizing line focusing. Our calculations show that Although there is a certain angle in the incident light, the metasurface we designed can still achieve a good focusing and imaging performance.
