Abstract
In the process of radio interference test on Yunnan-Guangdong ±800 kV HVDC power transmission engineering during its commissioning stage, some parts of the rod antenna were damaged. In order to find out influencing factors causing damages of antenna equipment and ensure accuracy and reliability of monitoring data, this paper studies feasibilities of the rod antenna and the loop antenna in theory and comparatively analyzes radio interference measured values and theoretical calculation values. Research results indicate corona discharge due to overlarge end field intensity of the rod antenna in radio interference test is the primary cause for damages of parts of the rod antenna, while the core wire and source antenna of the loop antenna are in mutual independent which means the loop antenna is affected slightly by external factors and easy to be measured accurately, and more suitable for radio interference test on the power transmission engineering.
