Abstract
In China, the transmission lines with rated voltage of 500 kV and above generally have double ground wires. Among them, the CGW is generally insulated with one point grounded, and the OPGW is often grounded at each tower. However, with OPGW grounded at each tower, it is prone to lightning strike and loss increase. Therefore, it is necessary to study the induced voltage and current of overhead ground wire in different grounding modes. In this paper, simulation is carried out for a voltage transmission line. The results show that the amplitude of induced voltage of OPGW is proportional to the segment length when the OPGW is insulated with one point grounded. When the transmission line is in-phase sequence, the amplitude of induced voltage of OPGW and CGW is highest. When the transmission line is in inverse order, the amplitude of induced voltage of OPGW and CGW is lowest. Furthermore, the induced voltage can be further reduced by the transposition of the ground wire.
