Abstract
This paper deals with the characteristic analysis and modeling of a magnetically levitated synchronous permanent magnet planar motor (MLSPMPM) with concentric structure winding. Topology of this MLSPMPM is introduced, the planar motor is suitable for long-stroke applications because the mover can move on the stator freely. Characteristics of the MLSPMPM, such as flux density, thrust and back-EMF are obtained analytically. These results will be compared with the finite element simulation results. And the analytical values matching the simulated ones well.
