16th International Congress of the Geological Society of Greece

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are delighted to welcome you all to the 16th International Congress of the Geological Society of Greece, to be held at the University of Patras, Greece, from October 17-19, 2022.

The Congress will be organized in a face-to-face setting, and aims to bring together academics, researchers, research students, and industry from around the world to share their knowledge, experience, and research results on all aspects of Geosciences with prime focus on, but not limited to, the eastern Mediterranean area.

Given the global reality, the Congress theme “Our Earth, Our Home” is a timely reminder that the understanding of the processes occurring on and within the earth as well as the interaction with human activities is the key to protect both our civilization and our planet. Thus, this Congress provides a unique opportunity to discuss critical issues in these escalating problems.

We are confident it will be an excellent meeting bringing together friends and colleagues within the geological community after a long period of absence.
