Introduction
We are delighted to announce that the 1st International Conference on Biotribology and Bionic-tribology (ICoBB 2024) will be held in Chengdu, China on Sept. 11-13, 2024. The International Conference on BioTribology (ICoBT) and the International Symposium on Biosurface, Biotribology and Bionic-tribology (ISBBB) were integrated to form ICoBB 2024.
Biotribology and Bionic-tribology play important roles in many aspects of our everyday life and engineering applications, from the functioning of natural organs and the service life of medical implants to the control of friction and wear of engineering equipment. It is a multidisciplinary field which combines materials, surface science, mechanical engineering and biomechanics. The aim of the ICoBB therefore is to bring together researchers from across the scientific, engineering and clinical spectrum, to promote communication across the different disciplines and to provide a platform for the presentation of new research in recent years.
The theme of ICoBB 2024 includes but not limited to the following topics: natural and artificial joints; oral tribology; skin tribology; wear resistance of natural materials; bioinspired design for anti-wear or drag reduction; bioinspired adhesion; bioinspired interfaces with superwettability; surface engineering of biomaterials and etc.
