Abstract
The Tubo Dynasty (~600-900 AD) was the first regime in the history of the Tibetan Plateau with clear historical records. Previous studies have shown that the rise and fall of the Tubo Dynasty are closely related to the local climate cycle on multi-centennial time scale. In the transient experiment of EC-Earth 3 numerical model, we find that the change of the strength of thermohaline circulation (AMOC) may be the root cause of the multi-centennial oscillation of Tibetan Plateau climate. This research can greatly improve our understanding of how climate affects the evolution of human civilization and provide references for similar studies.
