Abstract
The seamless diagnosable expression has been effectively applied to major oceans, demonstrating its ability to capture both Rossby and Kelvin waves simultaneously at all latitudes. However, this method has not yet been applied to atmospheric waves. The present research has extended this expression to atmospheric waves, focusing on clarifying the energy distribution (kinetic and available potential energy) and the vertical structure of energy fluxes. This symbolizes that the method is effective in both oceanic and atmospheric waves. We will be able to compare the impact of mean flow advection by westerly and impact of westward Rossby Waves. Also, we can study the downward flux of wave energy in the lower troposphere and explore air-sea interactions over the Pacific Ocean. A comparison of the differences between oceanic and atmospheric wave energy transfer is also can be expected. This study will provide new insights into energy transfer processes in the atmosphere.
