In the drive system of a dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DTP-PMSM), significant periodic harmonic components often exist in the current loop due to the nonlinear characteristics of the inverter and internal electromagnetic effects. These harmonics can adversely affect the system’s dynamic response, reduce steady-state accuracy, and decrease overall efficiency. Consequently, this paper proposes a novel model predictive repetitive control (MPRC). By embedding the repetitive controller (RC) into the model predictive control (MPC) framework using the internal model principle (IMP), this method can effectively suppress periodic harmonics in the current loop. Firstly, it  constructs the motor state-space model with harmonic components; then, by designing a specific order repetitive controller and combining it with the MPC control method, harmonic suppression in the harmonic space is achieved; finally, simulation comparisons are conducted to verify the effectiveness. The simulation results show that this control method reduces harmonic distortion while maintaining the original predictive control performance.
