Abstract — The open-winding permanent magnet synchronous motor (OW-PMSM) features a zero-sequence loop (ZSL), in which the third-order harmonic back electromotive force (Back-EMF) from the permanent magnet and the inverter nonlinearity both contribute to the generation of zero-sequence current (ZSC). Since the ZSC primarily comprises third-order harmonic current, its control becomes more complex. Furthermore, the system delay adversely affects the deadbeat predictive current control (DPCC) of the OW-PMSM, with these effects becoming more pronounced as the speed increases. To mitigate the effects of system delay, this paper proposes an average harmonic back-EMF model for the OW-PMSM and employs a phase-compensated resonant observer to improve system robustness. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed DPCC method is verified experimentally.
