Two-step model predictive current control (MPCC) for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) needs to traverse all voltage vectors (VVs) in control set, causing large computational burden. By adding the constraint of dq-axis current error, the VVs selection law at 1st step and 2nd step for two-step MPCC is obtained. Based on the VVs selection law, three streamlined control sets are proposed, which can decrease conventional VVs sequences from 49 to 36, 9 and 4, respectively. Simulation and real-time experiment results show these three streamlined control sets can keep the control performance almost the same as conventional control set and decrease execution time to 53.21%, 19.98% and 12.57%.
