Abstract
In certain specialized application scenarios, operating conditions necessitate maintaining a relatively low switching frequency for power devices to reduce power losses caused by switching actions. However, when the switching frequency is low, the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the motor current increases significantly. To address the issue of increased current harmonics due to reduced switching frequency, this paper proposes a simple model predictive current control (MPCC) method for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives based on harmonic current signal separation(HCSS) under low switching frequency conditions. (LSF-HCSS-MPCC).The method first designs a harmonic current suppression unit with a simple structure. Then, the predicted current harmonic component expression is obtained through straightforward calculations. Finally, this component is incorporated into the cost function to balance the impact of current harmonics on the system. Simulation verified the feasibility of this method.
