2025 IEEE Microwaves, Antennas, and Propagation Conference ( MAPCON)

Welcome Message from the General Co-Chairs

Dear colleagues and friends,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the serene city of Kochi, Kerala for the 2025 Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation Conference (MAPCON), a flagship annual event of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology and Antennas and Propagation Societies to be held at the Lulu International Convention Centre, Grand Hyatt Bologatty, Kochi from December 14-18, 2025. MAPCON 2025 will offer a comprehensive international platform for the symbiotic sharing of cutting-edge research and technologies in the fields of electromagnetics, microwave engineering, and antenna and propagation. The event will bring together leading researchers, engineers, technocrats, and practitioners from around the world to share their knowledge and expertise.

The first edition of MAPCON was organized in Bangalore from December 12 – 15, 2022. It was a grand success with 800+ delegates participating from various government, private and academic organizations of various countries. The conference grew to 900+ delegates in 2023 in Ahmedabad with more than 60 industry sponsors. In 2024 it is expected to have a gathering of 1000+ attendees at the HICC, Novotel, Hyderabad and 2025 is all set to host a diverse technical conglomeration with an estimated worldwide participation of 1500+ delegates. MAPCON 2025 will include a wide range of technical sessions in different tracks, keynote sessions, plenary sessions, invited talks, workshops, tutorials, special sessions, student design competitions, mentor-mentee programme, industry sessions, exhibits, professional meetings, tours and networking events. It will also hold Ph.D. initiative activities, Young Professional (YP) activities, Women-in Engineering (WiE) events, AP-S and MTT-S Jt. Chapter Chair meetings, SIGHT workshops, and start-up initiatives.

The salient features of MAPCON 2025 include:

• Active participation and involvement of Indian Space, Indian defense & allied industries, Department of Telecommunications of GoI and Department of Science and Technology of GoI
• Keynote and plenary talks from top leaders in academia, industry and from highly accomplished research personnel
• Invited talks by reputed resource persons across the globe on the state-of-the art topics
• 10 half-day pre-conference workshop /tutorials in frontiers and upcoming areas of microwaves, antennas and RF integrated circuits by experts from academia and leading industries
• Focused technical sessions on emerging areas, panel discussions and authorship-workshop for young students and scholars
• 80+ Industry grand exhibitions, which would feature some, key product launches/ introductions from major industries in RF/Microwave and antenna areas
• Research and academic exhibits from pan–India esteemed academic institutions with their respective booth space
• Reputed book stalls from international publishers with live reading library corners at the venue
• Exclusive WIE/YP/SIGHT Sessions to be conducted on floating cruises sailing in the backwaters of the Arabian sea during the resplendent sunset hues of the West coast
• Rich cultural evening with depiction of Kerala martial arts ‘Kalaripayattu’ and classical dance forms such as ‘Kathakali’ and ‘Mohiniattyam’ which are a trademark to the Malabar coast.

Kochi is the cradle of enthralling natural abundance that Kerala is known for, with its tranquil surrounding beaches and backwaters, beautiful houseboats and hill stations thus serving as the hotspot for biological diversity, colorful festivals and home to wide variety of flora and fauna. Participants and their companions are invited to explore Kerala’s attractions and cultural and ayurvedic heritage during the conference’s social events, as well as sumptuous Malabar cuisine that Kochi has to offer, in addition to the stimulating intellectual exchange.
