Dear colleagues and friends,
Geobiology is rapidly growing at the interface between geoscience and bioscience. As seen elsewhere in the world, geobiology in China has received significant attention in recent years by both scientists and administrative officials. Following the geobiology workshop in 2008, we organized four International Geobiology Conferences at Wuhan in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2017. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the scheduled 5th International Geobiology Conference in 2020 has been suspended for many years. In order to promote the conversations and collaborations in the international geobiologist community, we plan to restart the 5th International Geobiology Conference in 2025 at Wuhan, central China.
The Chinese Organizing Committee, in collaboration with related national/international organizations and research institutes, is delighted to cordially invite you to the 5th International Conference of Geobiology. This meeting offers an important forum in which geologists, paleontologists, biologists, microbiologists, biogeochemists, and other scientists with diverse approaches and methodologies can meet and exchange ideas on a wide range of topics related to the coupling system of the biosphere and geosphere. We hope that such exchange and integration will accelerate the development of geobiology and the earth system sciences as a whole.
We look forward to seeing you in Wuhan in June 2025.
Yours sincerely,
Shucheng XIE
