Background: China experiences a wide variety of natural disasters—frequent, widely distributed, and highly damaging—making it one of the countries most severely affected by natural hazards globally. Disaster risk prevention and control is a critical measure for safeguarding people's lives, property, and livelihood security; maintaining ecological security; and supporting high-quality development. To establish a high-level platform for academic exchange and collaboration on integrated natural disaster risk prevention and resilient society building, promote the routine application of national integrated disaster risk census outcomes, and support new quality productive forces and regional sustainable development, the 6th Academic Annual Conference of the Professional Committee on Natural Disaster Risk and Comprehensive Disaster Reduction, Geographical Society of China, will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, from August 22–25, 2025. We sincerely invite experts and scholars engaged in natural disaster risk and comprehensive disaster reduction to gather in Chengdu to share research experience and academic achievements, explore challenges and innovations in this field under the context of intelligent disaster reduction and high-quality development, foster interdisciplinary integration, advance theoretical innovation and technological progress, and contribute to modernizing China’s national natural disaster prevention and control system and capacity.
